1.1. Commitment
EMKAY has zero tolerance for money laundering, terrorist financing and sanctions evasion, and supports the objectives of Qatar's AML/CFT framework.
2.2. Controls
Identity verification of professional accounts, screening against applicable sanctions and politically-exposed-person lists, duplicate-identity detection, and ongoing monitoring of listing and account behaviour.
Listings and accounts presenting AML risk indicators are escalated to a compliance reviewer and may be suspended.
3.3. Reporting and cooperation
Where required, suspicious activity is reported to the competent Qatari authority. We do not tip off the subject of a report.
We cooperate with lawful information requests and retain related records for the statutory period.
4.Non-brokerage disclaimer
EMKAY is a technology platform that publishes property advertisements and connects users with licensed real-estate professionals. EMKAY is not a real-estate broker, agent, valuer, escrow agent, mortgage adviser or law firm, and does not hold a real-estate brokerage licence issued under Qatari law.
EMKAY does not act for any buyer, seller, landlord or tenant, does not negotiate on their behalf, does not receive commission on property transactions, and does not hold client money or deposits relating to a property transaction.
Any brokerage, agency, valuation, legal or financial service is provided solely by the third-party professional you engage. Their licence, conduct and liability are their own. You should independently verify a professional's licence with the competent Qatari authority before transacting.
5.Governing law & jurisdiction
This policy and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with it are governed by the laws of the State of Qatar.
The courts of the State of Qatar have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute or claim, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer rights available to you.
Where a provision is found unenforceable under Qatari law, it is severed and the remaining provisions continue in full force.
